By accessing or using Brieflet ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Brieflet provides AI-generated governance intelligence briefings delivered by email. The Service aggregates publicly available news and information relevant to the topics you configure, and composes personalised briefings on your chosen schedule.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use Brieflet. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Certain features of Brieflet require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You authorise us to charge your payment method on each renewal date. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the briefing content without written permission
  • Use automated means to access the Service beyond the provided API
  • Transmit any malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation

6. Intellectual Property

The Brieflet platform, including its design, software, and original content, is owned by Brieflet and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The AI-generated briefings delivered to you are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Brieflet does not warrant that the briefings are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. The content is intended as a starting point for your own research and should not be relied upon as professional legal, financial, or governance advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brieflet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
